Where Do We Stick the Fig Tree?

G got a fig tree as a gift.

I love figs, and as one of the fruits that truly does not travel well, I totally get the idea of planting a tree for personal consumption.

But we have nowhere to put it. G's yard is 8' x 20'. We've got three raised beds and we plan to have space for hanging out back there too. G's plan is to get a pot and to keep it contained in there. Of course one of our experienced gardener friends pointed out that a potted fig tree would never survive a winter outdoors, so I guess that means we'll pull it inside in the winter. We'll see.
